Are you inspired by the thought of teaching at one of the country's oldest folk high schools and working closely with participants and colleagues in a beautiful rural setting with a friendly atmosphere?

Are you motivated by working in the relatively free way of teaching and assessing studies at folk high schools, where democracy, broad perspectives, and current events shape the work alongside central subject content?

We are now looking for one or two substitute teachers for the General Course who want to contribute to our participants' development, education, and support to complete their high school education, specifically in subjects such as mathematics at levels 1 and 2 and natural science/biology.

Kävesta is a relatively small school, with about 170 participants and 45 staff members. The school is owned and operated by Region Örebro County and is part of the Regional Development Administration, Education and Labor Market area. We have an aesthetic profile and, in addition to the General Course, offer programs in dance, art and design, as well as music. We also organize a large number of cultural events that are open to the public. The school has a boarding facility with 65 places and full board.

The Regional Development Administration works for regional development in our region. Our mission is to promote sustainable growth and good quality of life throughout Region Örebro County. The area of responsibility is broad and ranges from public health, education, and culture to business development, energy and climate, and public transport. The administration, which is one of five within Region Örebro County, consists of about 330 employees. We are a tobacco-free region and our shared vision is "Together we create a better life".

The studies are for adults, and the position includes teaching, guiding, and supporting participants in both their studies and social life. We see you as an important person in the school's collective effort to promote the participants' education and development. The work often takes place together with subject colleagues and work teams.

The teaching in the General Course is based on both the individual's and the group's needs, levels, and wishes. Therefore, the position requires creativity and the ability to constantly adapt methods and content in teaching. Participants' knowledge is assessed through discussions, presentations, written assignments, practical exercises, and group work.

We are looking for someone with teaching experience and a teacher's degree or equivalent pedagogical education in mathematics and natural science/biology for high school level or equivalent. We welcome a breadth of subject competencies combined with mathematics and natural science.

It is an advantage if you have experience and education in folk education and/or adult education and if you have experience working with people with disabilities.

Great importance is placed on personal qualities where you, as a person, have good communication and collaboration skills and are flexible and receptive.
