The business unit Aerospace Systems, formerly the Aeronautics division, delivers aircraft structures with integrated systems, taking full responsibility for the development, industrialization, and production of parts for the civil aviation industry worldwide. Our customers are primarily Airbus and Boeing, and the T-7A program is part of our operations.

The engineering organization is now looking for an experienced designer or calculation engineer who wants to work closely with production in the Technical Support section, which includes design, strength, weight, and technical production support. The section consists of 36 employees who work on development projects, product improvements, and technical support for production and our customers.

We work as a team on development assignments, change services, and direct operational support to our production. LEAN is the foundation of the philosophy that applies to us, and the development of business acumen and competitiveness are important goals.

Your Role

In this role, you will work with deviations that arise at the customer, in local production, or with subcontractors. You will be responsible for performing technical assessments and deciding how to address deviations in the product. You will work closely with quality and production to find the most cost-effective solution. Most deviations occur in our workshop located in Tannefors (Linköping). The work also involves suggesting how production can be improved to prevent errors in the future.

Your work will involve many points of contact with specialists in design, materials and processes, strength, and more.

The role carries significant responsibility as you make technical decisions that affect the product's flight safety. You are visible and sought after in the organization, and you will have a large network. Decisions are documented in English as we have international customers and suppliers. You will be part of a team of about 14-15 people.

Your Profile

We are looking for an engineer who enjoys networking! We seek someone who is communicative, cooperative, and unpretentious, while also having a strong personal integrity as quality cannot be compromised.

You have a university degree in engineering or equivalent with a focus on mechanics, design, strength, and preferably a few years of experience. You have a constructive mindset and are stimulated by collaborating with personnel within your own and other departments/sections. Experience in production technology work or work in production is valuable.

Good knowledge of English is a prerequisite as oral and written communication occurs in English, and a large part of our documentation is in English. Furthermore, you speak and write Swedish fluently.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
