Special Helicopter Group (SHG) - Civil Aircraft Technician
The Special Helicopter Group (SHG) is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within the FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of training and competence.
About the Position
As a CIVIL AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN at SHG, you will hold the role of aircraft technician in the unit's aircraft maintenance company. The company includes several supporting functions, including aircraft maintenance, aircraft materials, and flight safety materials.
Your main task as a civil aircraft technician will be to perform aircraft maintenance on Helicopter 16, which primarily involves line maintenance, troubleshooting, and major corrective maintenance. Readiness will also be required. The position also includes other operationally related tasks, including participation in exercises. You will work both independently and together with other civilian and military personnel.
You will be assigned to combat training and educated as a combatant in your role as an aircraft technician. All personnel within the Armed Forces have an overseas obligation, which means that you may be called upon for deployment abroad.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct line maintenance on Helicopter 16 to ensure high availability of the unit's helicopters.
- Contribute to the development of the combat unit and your own function.
Several other tasks will be added, and the work places very high demands on initiative, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to develop the function's working methodology.
Qualifications
- Valid certificate according to EASA part 66 B1 or EMAR part 66 B1 certificate.
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance work.
- Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Approved according to Fm FysS.
- Driving license class B.
- Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious
- EASA part 66 certificate B1:3.
- EMAR part 66 certificate B1:3 or B2.
- Type course Helicopter 16.
- Completed GMU/military service with passing grades.
- Driving license class BE, C, CE.
- Military driver's license.
Personal Qualities
- Service-minded and responsible.
- Good collaboration skills and also self-driven.
- Resilient and robust with the ability to handle rapid changes.
- Meticulous and structured.
- Safety-conscious.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability during the selection tests.

Employment form: Civil permanent position. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not already employed by the authority.
