Developer for our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Test Unit

Do you have experience in the development, testing, or use of unmanned aerial vehicles? We are now looking for a new team member for our test flight unit. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both detail and overall aspects of projects that enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces and Sweden. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.

About the Position

In this role, you will conduct flights in our test operations for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS), focusing on planning, executing, and documenting the flights as well as reporting the results.

You will work closely with colleagues in test management, flight technology, and design, as well as with external stakeholders in research and the defense industry. The role also involves close collaboration with other pilots. Together, you will participate in projects related to complex technical products, where you contribute with technical analysis, requirement specification, and well-founded decision-making materials.

Furthermore, the role also involves developing and adapting existing systems with new technical solutions in hardware and software, as well as contributing to the training of colleagues. Flight safety is a cornerstone of the operation, and you are also expected to actively participate in the work with routines, processes, and regulations to ensure a safe and efficient flight operation.

The work is varied and combines practical field tasks with administrative tasks at the desk. The job requires the ability to perform tasks effectively.

The position is located in Linköping, and travel occurs both domestically and internationally.

About You

We are looking for someone who is an educated civil engineer/university engineer or defense engineer with relevant technical orientation, or you have equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent.

To succeed in this role, you need to have relevant experience in the development, testing, or use of unmanned aerial vehicles, preferably in a professional context. You also have experience from the technical field and project work. Furthermore, it is essential that you have good knowledge and/or experience in flight technology and a good understanding of its underlying theories and principles.

The position requires that you have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of the Office suite. You also need to have a valid B driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of various platforms within UAS technology and its technical solutions, as well as experience in flight operations and a pilot license for manned aircraft.

The work involves practical tasks and exercises, including heavy lifting and fieldwork. Therefore, good physical capacity is a prerequisite for thriving and succeeding in the role.
