Swedish Healthcare and Social Services
Swedish healthcare and social services are in a changing and eventful time. The National Board of Health and Welfare plays a central role in supporting the development of good care, support, and dental care through analysis. Would you like to work to support healthcare, dental care, and social services in Sweden?
About the Position
We are seeking experienced statisticians with current expertise in statistics who want to work on analytical and statistical assignments within healthcare, dental care, and social services. As a statistician, you will independently act as an internal consultant on issues related to statistics, statistical programming, and data processing.
Your role includes working with in-depth statistical analyses and assessing the results. You will also provide support in implementation and quality review of data processing and statistical analyses. The position is located in the unit for epidemiology and quantitative analyses, which conducts descriptive analyses, in-depth analyses, forecasts, and epidemiological studies of prioritized areas. We work, among other things, with quantitative registry analyses and indicator-based evaluations. The unit also provides methodological support to other departments and units and works to apply various types of statistical analysis methods within the agency's areas of activity.
About You
To thrive in this role, you need to be analytical, meticulous, and have a structured approach to work. The job is structured so that you alternate between working independently, collaborating with colleagues at the agency, and providing support to other parts of the agency. Therefore, you need to have good collaboration skills and be able to take initiative and drive your work forward within the framework of the assignment. Sometimes the conditions for our projects change or shift direction, so you need to have a good ability to adapt and adjust to change.
We are looking for someone who has
- at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a focus on statistics
- current experience working as a statistician
- good programming skills in SAS
- knowledge of and experience with statistical and/or epidemiological studies
- experience from merging the agency's and other national health data and/or social services registers
It is also advantageous if you have
- experience in project management or project work
- can create macros in SAS
- have experience ordering data/statistics from other authorities and/or external organizations
- experience with the agency's national registers
Good to Know
The employment is a permanent position with an initial 6-month probationary period. You will be based at the office on Västerbroplan in Stockholm. In the spring of 2027, the agency will move to newly renovated premises in Solna strand. Your job title will be statistician, and your placement will be in the analysis department, A/EPIK - Epidemiology and Quantitative Analyses.
When you apply, you will need to answer a number of selection questions related to the requirements in the advertisement. Your answers will be used as part of the selection process and may determine whether you proceed in the recruitment process or not. Therefore, it is important that you respond as thoroughly and clearly as possible. We do not use the personal letter in the selection, so you only attach your CV.
