Economist at Bufff Sweden
Bufff SverigeStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
Economist
Do you want to work in a children's rights organization where every day makes a concrete difference for children and young people with incarcerated relatives? Bufff Sweden is now strengthening its team with an economist who wants to contribute to our important work and who enjoys a role where tasks can vary and where you help shape the whole. As an economist at Bufff Sweden, you are a key person in the organization's continued development. You are responsible for ensuring that our financial processes are secure, transparent, and sustainable in the long term. At the same time, you are part of a small and close-knit team where everyone helps each other, making the role both broad and meaningful.
About the role
At Bufff, you will have a central responsibility for developing and ensuring the quality of our financial processes. You will work with;
- Budgeting and forecasting for the entire organization.
- Accounting and ongoing financial reporting as well as monitoring income and expenses.
- Project accounting, especially for government grants and legacy fund projects.
- Preparation of materials for the board, auditors, and management.
- Financial analyses, risk assessments, and improvement proposals.
- Support for local associations, project managers, and other internal functions.
The role involves both driving your own work and collaborating closely with the Secretary General, the board, our project managers, and our local associations.
As we are a growing organization, you will also play an important part in supporting the development of the operations. This means that you will sometimes contribute to tasks that are close to finance, and sometimes to those that simply need to be done for the organization to function smoothly.
We are looking for someone who wants to combine professional financial work with making a real difference. We believe that you:
- Have relevant education and documented experience working as an economist, preferably within the non-profit sector or project-funded operations.
- Are confident in working independently and driving your own processes.
- Have good analytical skills and appreciate both structure and problem-solving.
- Enjoy combining strategic tasks with more practical elements.
- Thrive in environments where responsibility is taken, collaboration is broad, and sometimes quick adjustments are necessary.
- Have a genuine commitment to children's rights and social sustainability.
- See the value in working closely with the operations – not just with the numbers.
We offer
- A workplace with a clear social commitment and strong values.
- The opportunity to influence and develop the finance function.
- Varied workdays and close collaboration with engaged colleagues.
- Flexible working environment and the possibility of hybrid work.
- A role where you truly contribute to strengthening children and young people in vulnerable life situations.
About Bufff Sweden
Bufff is a national children's rights organization that supports children and young people with an incarcerated family member. We work with support services, education, knowledge dissemination, and advocacy, with the child's best interests in focus. We are currently undergoing a transformation to develop and ensure the quality of our operations and prepare for rapid growth. The prison service will triple its prison capacity, which means that our target group will grow by the same amount. We have never been so needed as now.
The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. We have a collective agreement and goal-oriented working hours. Please submit your CV and cover letter to [email protected] by March 6, 2026. We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.
