Your Role

As a rigger operator with us, you will be part of the Rig Operations section, which currently consists of 14 people. Our section is part of the "Development Simulators" area, which has the overall responsibility for the design, development, maintenance, and support of flight simulators used in the testing and development of the Gripen weapon system.

Our team is responsible for the daily operation and support of some of the larger flight simulators used for the development and testing of Gripen. These simulators, which we call rigs, are built from both software models and real aircraft hardware. Your primary role as a rigger operator is to keep the daily testing operations in the rigs running, but you will also work on more long-term tasks to develop the rigs' capabilities and usability.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing the rig's configuration for scheduled test sessions, which may involve both connecting hardware and loading software
• Providing support to rig users before and during the session, e.g., with operating the simulator and associated tools, fault simulations, or maneuvering the aircraft
• Troubleshooting suspected problems in the rig, with support from other teams as needed
• Testing the rig, e.g., development testing of new rig tools, regression testing after updates, or during troubleshooting
• Training and disseminating information to rig users
• Writing and maintaining instructions for the rigs
• Identifying and implementing improvements for increased usability and efficient use of the rigs - which can range from changes in work methods to coding new tools that assist ourselves and/or our rig users

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and is committed to developing and contributing to both your own and the team's development. You have a strong interest in problem-solving and are curious about understanding how things work. You are attracted to handling technical challenges where you can be challenged on your own but also collaborate with other colleagues and stakeholders. Since the role involves writing and maintaining instructions, we would like you to have an interest in documentation.

Requirements for the Position:

• You have some form of technical education at the university level or have acquired equivalent knowledge through, for example, work experience
• You enjoy learning new things and figuring out how things work, e.g., by exploring and learning new tools or programs on your own or with the help of colleagues
• You enjoy helping other people

It is advantageous if you have knowledge in:

• Programming such as C++ or Python
• Electronics
• Linux

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
