ABOUT BITVIS

Bitvis AB is a software company that provides the cloud-based SaaS service Power Flow. We develop and sell the energy service to Swedish energy companies where the end users are both businesses and private individuals. The service helps individuals optimize their electricity consumption by providing a mobile app and real-time meters. Our algorithms and smart features control, among other things, the charging of consumers' electric cars, home batteries, heating systems, etc. By connecting to Power Flow, consumers and energy companies can participate in the creation of a smart electricity system. We are currently in an incredibly exciting phase, with a focus on new development with our new product Power Flex on the way.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Backend Developer at Bitvis, you will play a key role in our team. You will largely work on new development where you will use your skills in Java, Spring, AWS, Python, Rust, and TypeScript to design and implement backend solutions that meet high demands for performance, security, and scalability. You will be responsible for developing our AWS infrastructure and architecture to handle real-time data. You will also design and develop microservices systems in Java, as well as develop serverless functions with AWS Lambda. An important part of your work will be to manage and optimize our PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB databases, which is crucial for our data management and analysis. In your role, you will be responsible for every step of the chain, where unit testing is a natural part of your work; if you are also interested in working with system testing, that is an advantage.

The team works agile according to the Kanban method, where you will work closely with Frontend developers, product designers, and data scientists. In addition, you will collaborate with the team to plan and deploy software updates and new features, ensuring a continuous delivery of improvements to our users. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop our working methods and structure in a growing company. For those interested in architecture, there is also the possibility to delve further into such a role.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who:

• Is unpretentious, open-minded, and interested in technology
• Has at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with complex systems and integrations.
• Has good experience with Java and AWS CDK
• Has a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Speaks and writes fluent Swedish.

It is a merit if you have previously worked with data lake configurations and development in Rust or TypeScript.
