Aeronautics IT is part of the Aeronautics business area at Saab, which develops and produces products at the forefront of technology, both in civil and military aviation, with the JAS Gripen being the most well-known and talked about.

They are responsible for the operation, management, and development of Aeronautics' development and production environments, as well as their components such as servers, storage, networks, databases, and clients.

About the role

As a System Administrator at SAAB Aeronautics IT, you will be an important member of the team responsible for managing and further developing technical services for the Aeronautics operations, primarily working in the Linux operating system. Your mission includes ensuring the availability of systems and digital services, which places high demands on security, stability, and accuracy in the work performed. You will also have a central role in the delivery and support flow of IT services.

You will function as third-line support and therefore will not have any outward contact with the users of the systems, but you will handle incidents and problems that may arise. The role also involves initiating projects based on the needs that may arise. This could be within lifecycle management if any hardware starts to become outdated and needs to be replaced. The work will primarily be performed in the Linux operating system with software management. Your role means working primarily independently, but with the backing of a large expertise within your team.

We are looking for someone with…

• A couple of years of experience in System Administration within LINUX/UNIX with a focus on server operations
• Experience with security thinking around automated configuration management
• Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

For this position, you are required to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations, which may require certain citizenship.

Preferred qualifications for the position include experience with:

• Good knowledge of commonly used scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Security thinking around automated configuration management
• Experience with Ansible – Docker – Kubernetes – Puppet
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, SUSE Manager, or similar tools
• Experience with the AIX and Solaris operating systems
