The position is located within the Education Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Your tasks as a childcare worker in the Staffing Pool

As a childcare worker in the staffing pool for preschools, you are permanently employed at 100% but carry out your assignment at various preschools throughout Linköping Municipality. This means a varied assignment at several different workplaces, giving you significant experience and the opportunity to develop your leadership and pedagogical skills. You contribute to ensuring that preschools can maintain good teaching while a position is being recruited or while a regular employee is on study leave. You become part of Linköping Municipality, where we work together to turn ideas into reality.

You follow the norms and values set by the preschool curriculum and contribute to implementing the preschool's mission. Childcare workers in preschools are involved in planning and must carry out the goal-oriented processes and teaching so that care, development, and learning form a whole. The work team is based on the curriculum, and you, together with the team, work to ensure that the preschool's activities, content, and environment stimulate development and curiosity in the children. You are expected to work both with groups of children and individual children. You take advantage of the children's interests, needs, routines, and the spontaneous learning that arises in preschool and make it part of the teaching.

Your workplace

Your workplace will vary as you work at preschools throughout Linköping Municipality. You will be placed at the preschool that currently has the greatest need for staff for more than 15 days up to 6 months. This means that changes in assignments and thus workplaces can occur every 14 days or after 3 months. At most, you will be in one operation for 6 months before being placed at another preschool. To enjoy the assignment, you need to be flexible and prepared to adapt at short notice; you may be needed at another preschool as soon as tomorrow.

To be eligible for the position as a childcare worker in the Staffing Pool, you need to be able to travel to all our preschools throughout the municipality and be able to work during preschool hours, which are Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 18:30.

In the monthly pool for preschools, a total of 10 people will work (your first colleagues have just started!), which means you will have 9 colleagues working in the same way as you. You will thus be part of a workgroup where continuing education and experience exchange will be part of your work.

Who you are

It is a requirement that you have a childcare worker education from adult education or have completed the Child and Leisure Program at high school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-driven activities as an employee, through internships, or voluntarily. You have knowledge of the preschool curriculum and other relevant governing documents.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is to ensure that, according to the curriculum (Lpfö18), you can organize and carry out the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a childcare worker, you create good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts that occur in your professional role. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive manner in teaching and the everyday life of the preschool. You lead the work with the children through motivation, engagement, and participation.
