ABOUT THE JOB

We are now looking for a support educator, personal assistant, or someone with similar experience for one of our clients just outside Norrköping.

You will work in an active and eventful workplace where you can truly make a difference for a forward-thinking and active boy with Down syndrome. To help him have a meaningful and functional everyday life, you will assist him with everything it entails, from feeding and personal hygiene to communication and finding fun activities together. The boy is deaf, which makes communication, conducted through sign language, especially important.

He is a cheerful and active person who enjoys long brisk walks and playing outdoors. In the summer, swimming both at the beach and in the pool at home is the best! A visit to Busfabriken is also on the agenda. The job involves a lot of outdoor activities in all weather, from bright sunshine to rain and storms.

Your workplace will be in the boy's home or wherever he is. He lives just outside Norrköping in an apartment well adapted for him, adjacent to his parents' house.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU?

We see that you are playful, patient, flexible, and physically fit. Since our client can be very quick and impulsive, it is essential that you are attentive to him and his signals and are always nearby.

It is important that you have a genuine interest in helping and supporting this boy to provide him with the best conditions for a valuable everyday life. Educational skills and experience in care and support are advantageous, but the most important thing is your attitude and mindset.

Our client can be outwardly aggressive, which is why it is important that you feel calm and secure in yourself. If you have experience with low-arousal approaches, that is a plus; otherwise, we will teach you! Knowledge of sign language is also advantageous, but you will receive training on-site as well.

WORKING HOURS AND EMPLOYMENT DEGREE

1 position at around 80%, regular position. There is a chance for extra work.

The boy needs someone with him around the clock, so you must be willing to work at any time of the day, but you will primarily work days and evenings.

During day and evening shifts, you work together with a colleague. Weekend work every other weekend.

SALARY

At Vivida, you as an assistant receive a fixed hourly wage + vacation pay and possible additional compensation. A collective agreement is in place.

START DATE

Immediately or as agreed.
