Job Description
We are looking for you who are a biologist or biomedical analyst and who is interested in molecular biology. You will be part of our daily operations and may work with various areas and techniques within the assignment areas for the Precision Medicine Laboratory (PL). PL is an operation that was established on January 1, 2023, as part of gathering molecular biological expertise within the Diagnostics Center to further enhance the capacity to drive development in the field forward. At PL, biologists, biomedical analysts, and bioinformaticians primarily work. The mission of the operation is to perform and develop molecular biological analyses for all specialty clinics within laboratory medicine, such as pathology, genetics, microbiology, pharmacology, chemistry, as well as immunology and transfusion medicine. The work within the operation is varied with good development opportunities and takes place in an environment that is at the forefront in terms of analyses and instrumentation. The operation is research-intensive, and method and operational development is a natural part of the work. Currently, there is a need for employees who primarily perform analyses within the specialty area of clinical genetics.
The fundamental work of registering samples, recording results, sending samples to other labs, and other tasks that are part of a laboratory operation is an obvious part of the job. The laboratory performs analyses related to prenatal diagnostics and diagnostics of genetically conditioned diseases and syndromes. Methods used include DNA extraction, Sanger sequencing, micro-array, chromosome analysis, NGS, and more, as well as analysis and interpretation of molecular data.
Working with us is varied and stimulating, and you will work with cutting-edge healthcare in an area where new aspects are discovered and pave the way for the future. We work transprofessionally in close collaboration with, for example, hospital geneticists and doctors within clinical genetics, pathology, and microbiology, as well as other specialties within laboratory medicine.
About You
For this position, a degree in biology or equivalent or BMA certification is required. You speak and write Swedish and English fluently. The working language is Swedish.
Meritorious:
- Knowledge and practical experience of working with molecular biological analyses in clinical or diagnostic questions is highly meritorious.
- Practical experience in analyzing and interpreting molecular data in a clinical or research-oriented environment is meritorious.
We place great importance on personal suitability, where a key quality is good collaboration skills. You enjoy challenges and can work in a change process, are secure, positive, and see opportunities instead of obstacles. You plan, organize, delineate, and prioritize your work independently and effectively while setting and adhering to deadlines. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and are structured and quality-conscious.
