The Primary Care Center in Östergötland consists of 33 region-run health centers, four emergency centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, child health care unit, vaccination clinic, 1177, and the General Medicine Education Center. We provide a broad primary care service offering care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

Job Description

You are genuinely interested in general medicine and envision a future in primary care. With us, you will receive top-class training at a very well-functioning and well-staffed health center with a good working environment and excellent supervision. You will be a permanent physician for a limited list of patients throughout your ST training. On-call duty is included in the work.

Vårdcentralen Vikbolandet is a small, pleasant health center in scenic surroundings about 25 km east of Norrköping. There are bus connections with a stop outside the health center. The catchment area extends from Norrköping eastward to the archipelago outside Arkösund, and we have around 6500 patients registered with us.

Work Group

The health center is well-staffed with 6 specialists in general medicine, 2 ST physicians, district nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, medical administrators, psychologists, rehabilitation coordinators, and podiatry specialists. The building also houses a pharmacy, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and dental care with whom we have good collaboration. We have a child health care unit, responsibility for a nursing home with 60 places, and medical supervision in the municipal home care. We are an Academic Health Center with several researchers affiliated with the unit.

About You

You are a licensed physician with a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare and possess very good Swedish language skills corresponding to at least documented level Swedish C1. You have completed your foundation training (AT) or basic training (BT).

You have excellent collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work while taking great responsibility for your listed patients. You have good judgment and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious, helpful, and enjoy working in a team. An interest in research and/or development, particularly related to Close Care, is desirable. We place great importance on personal qualities.
