Job Advertisement: Nurse for Urological Department B192

At the urological department B192 at the university hospital (US), you will find our inpatient department where we care for patients pre- and post-operatively in connection with highly specialized urological surgery.

We also have a high influx of acute admissions from the emergency department, our neighboring hospitals, directly from home, or via our outpatient clinic. This can involve anything from bleeding in the urinary tract, obstruction due to stones, to acute urosepsis.

Despite the perception that we only change catheters, the work on the department is very varied and stimulating as our main mission is directed towards planned surgery for urological malignancies.

We are looking for a nurse who wants to work in a friendly team where our goal is to provide good care and opportunities for development through a good working environment.

The Urological Clinic in Östergötland is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care (CKOC). The clinic is responsible for its own region and is the regional clinic for the Southeast healthcare region. The clinic has about 100 employees and consists of a care department at the university hospital, department B192, as well as outpatient clinics in Linköping and Norrköping.

Welcome to apply to a fantastic team and stimulating work!

Our Offer

For the life ahead. Region Östergötland has high ambitions and a responsible mission. It is about health and care, about the development of our region, and about those who live and reside here. We want to continue to be at the forefront, with care, research, and education. This means daring to think anew – and having the best employees. Therefore, we offer unique opportunities for further learning and invest in modern environments with effective systems and tools. Many of us meet patients and relatives, while others create the conditions for life-saving interventions. With us, fantastic people work towards the same goal – to make a real difference, and for the life ahead.

Job Description

We work in care teams around patients where the team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nurses, doctors, social workers, and physiotherapists. During the day, there is also a coordinator responsible for patient flow in the department. The job as a nurse involves responsibility for ensuring that care in each given situation maintains the right quality and is based on the patient's individual needs and resources.

In your role, you will lead and distribute work within the team and promote a positive climate in the workplace. As a nurse, you will rotate between days, evenings, and nights.

The introduction is tailored to your needs, usually lasting 4 weeks. We are keen for you to feel welcome and secure in your role. We also view continued professional development positively, where you can develop through paid further education to become a specialist nurse or training in urological care. We are in a phase where we will invest in research, and there may be opportunities to be involved in this.

We have a close collaboration with our urology outpatient clinics, and there is an opportunity for rotation between our units!

We work with a wish schedule and aim to work 2 weekends out of 5. (Scheduling is done in Tessa, a scheduling program where you set your own schedule via computer or mobile.)

About You

You are a licensed nurse. You will communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues, which means it is important that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Experience in surgical/urological care is an advantage.

As a person, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You have the ability to plan and prioritize your work and remain calm in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.

Employment and Application

We work with ongoing selection and interviews, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will need to fill out a form (https://ledsys.lio.se/Document/Document?DocumentNumber=54500).
