The Cardiology Clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping is part of the Heart Center (HC).

We provide health and medical care in the field of heart diseases for adults of all ages and offer highly specialized care to Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland, as well as having national specialty care. We have a large cardiology operation consisting of several units: Heart Intensive Care Unit (HIA), Acute Care Unit in Cardiology (Ward C117), Pre- and Post-operative Unit (ÖVA and Ward C118), the Sedation Unit, and outpatient clinic. Here, we care for acute patients from the emergency department and other hospitals in the region.

Job Description

With us, we work “for the heart with the heart.” We offer a varied job with good development opportunities. The clinical work is performed in interdisciplinary teams and with a patient-centered approach. In our acute operations, we are open around the clock. We have both a Heart Intensive Care Unit, HIA, and an Acute Care Unit, Ward 7. The acute unit is suitable for you who thrive in a fast-paced environment, with patients of varying complexity, and if you enjoy new challenges.

Our elective operations, Ward 8, have a high patient flow and short lengths of stay, with care levels varying from mild to moderate. The elective unit is suitable for you who enjoy fluctuations in pace and where the planning of the day is more predictable.

The position is in the care ward, but the clinic has a well-developed rotation between the units, so in the long term, there may be opportunities for rotation. The rotation may be to HIA, another care ward, outpatient clinic, or laboratory operations.

Work Group

The interdisciplinary teams consist of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers. The nursing work is carried out in care teams with nurses and nursing assistants. The work is done in close collaboration with adjacent units. About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, with or without experience. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are secure, stable, adaptable to different situations, and have good collaboration skills. You plan, organize, and prioritize your workday for the patient's best. You have good empathetic skills, are meticulous, and care about working with quality in a goal-oriented manner. You enjoy being part of an interdisciplinary team with the patient in focus, where all professional groups learn from each other. You are curious, take your own initiatives, and want to be part of developing the operations.
