Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives?
Welcome to the municipality that is far from average!
The Department of Health and Social Care is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to the elderly and individuals with disabilities, as well as supporting their relatives. Our goal is to provide good conditions for an independent, stimulating, and safe living situation - around the clock, with a citizen-focused approach. We have 2,500 employees who, in their various roles, provide support and care to citizens in need.
The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for two temporary case officers.
The temporary positions are for one year with the possibility of extension.
As a case officer in the Authority Unit for individuals aged 65 and older, you will work with cases concerning citizens aged 65 and over in Botkyrka. You play a vital role in assessing needs and ensuring that individuals receive the right support. The work is based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) and involves exercising authority in close collaboration with citizens, relatives, colleagues, and external actors.
You will receive applications verbally, in writing, or digitally. As a case officer, you do not need to start from a specific intervention; instead, together with the individual, you will identify their needs and how best to meet them. This may involve, for example, home care, security alarms, day activities, housing (care homes, service houses), or respite care (home respite, short-term placements, alternating care). The work also includes home visits to create a clear picture of the citizen's needs and conditions.
Your main responsibilities include:
- assessing needs, making decisions about interventions according to current legislation
- conducting home visits and engaging in dialogue with citizens and relatives
- documenting and processing cases in the operational system Lifecare
- following up on decided interventions together with the citizen and relevant providers.
- In cases of more complex needs, you will be responsible for coordinated care and support, as well as establishing a coordinated individual plan (SIP) in collaboration with the region and other actors, such as healthcare, care, and habilitation.
Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that citizens aged 65 and older in Botkyrka receive the right support and conditions for safety, participation, and quality of life.
What We Offer You
At the Authority Unit for individuals aged 65 and older, you will become part of an engaged team of case officers who work closely with management and administrative support. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop by handling a wide range of cases, from simpler applications to more complex investigations that require collaboration with other actors. The work provides you with experience in home visits, follow-ups, and coordination, deepening your competence in authority exercise and social work.
Botkyrka Municipality is in an exciting phase of development where preventive care and support initiatives are being strengthened to meet future needs. As a case officer, you will be part of this development and have the opportunity to build knowledge in new working methods and collaborative forms. We offer good opportunities for further growth in your professional role and to take the next step in your career within the municipality's broad social services.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another academic degree in sociology, law, or behavioral science.
Other Requirements:
- Completed and approved course in social law.
- Experience in interpreting laws and regulations.
- Experience in documenting clearly and accurately in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Meritorious:
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience in exercising authority.
- Experience working according to the individual's needs in focus (IBIC).
- Experience with the operational system Lifecare.
- Driver's license (B).
As a case officer, you need to be structured, as you often handle multiple investigations simultaneously and must document clearly in the operational system. The role also requires you to be analytical in order to interpret legislation, weigh different options, and make decisions that are legally sound and tailored to the individual's needs. Since the work involves frequent contact with citizens, relatives, and other actors, it is important that you are collaborative and can build trusting relationships. When conditions change or needs are complex, it is a strength to be solution-oriented, so that together with the individual and providers, you can find effective interventions that provide safety and support in daily life.
Welcome with your application!
