Support Assistant at Edsbergsvillan
Do you want to make each day a little better for those who need it the most? As a support assistant at Edsbergsvillan, you are an active part of the organization, working closely with children and young people with disabilities to create a safe and developing everyday life based on their needs and self-determination.
About the Job
As a support educator, you support children and young people with various disabilities living at Edsbergsvillan. Here, you get to be part of their everyday life and create a safe and developing environment where each individual is given the opportunity to grow based on their own conditions through their wishes and self-determination.
A large part of your working hours is spent directly in the organization, where you work closely with both the residents and your colleagues. By being an active part of the daily work, you have the opportunity to develop and strengthen the pedagogical work on-site. You support, coach, and guide your colleagues in everyday life to ensure that the working methods create participation and independence for the residents. Your commitment contributes to a high quality of care, and you actively work for an open and unpretentious climate where everyone can reflect and develop together.
As a support educator, you are also part of a network with other support educators to exchange experiences and develop in your role.
With us, you will find a workplace filled with joy, engaged employees, good community, and present leaders. As an employee with us, you are also offered benefits such as a generous wellness allowance and the Edenred lunch card (subsidized lunch). Of course, we also have a collective agreement.
Edsbergsvillan is located in a quiet residential area in Edsviken and caters to children and young people with intellectual disabilities with or without additional disabilities such as autism, mobility impairments, and epilepsy. Most of the children are multiply disabled and have significant care needs.
The position is a permanent employment at 100%, and a probationary period may be applicable. Working hours are varied and include daytime, weekends, evenings, and on-call.
About You
To succeed in the job, we see that you have:
- Post-secondary specialization in the area of functional variations comprising at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits with a focus on pedagogy.
- Knowledge in AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication).
- Knowledge in low-arousal approaches.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good computer skills and the ability to handle digital systems.
- Experience working with children with disabilities.
To thrive in the role, you need to have a drive for development and inspire others to try new working methods. You see opportunities for improvement and contribute to an open work climate. With a strong focus on the residents, you place their needs at the center and create a meaningful and safe everyday life.
You work closely with both the residents and your colleagues and are relationship-building, attentive, and inclusive. You are communicative, express yourself clearly in speech and writing, and contribute to good collaboration through active listening and feedback. You are also service-oriented, solution-focused, and take initiatives to ensure that the residents receive safe and quality care.
