SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-school-attending boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Fagared is now seeking treatment assistants for summer positions at our departments in Lindome. In the Lindome departments, we work to implement closed youth care for boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty under the law of closed youth care. We also have a treatment department with a particularly enhanced mission where we receive youth with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, self-harming behavior, and severe acting-out behavior.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and safety for our youth and are responsible for the basics of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives youth who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty under the law of closed youth care, you need to work with a high level of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

We want to reward you who help us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good therapeutic relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations.

• Completed and approved high school education
• B driver's license
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the job may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
• Experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment for the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the summer period.

Working Hours:

Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 2 days. This introductory training is mandatory for you to work with us.
