IT Specialist at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to increasing the local support of the IT department in the core operations and who is passionate about helping and educating others with digital tools. You will be placed in the IT Service Center Unit and will spend a lot of time in the core operations in client-facing work. In your geographical area, you will perform IT service tasks in our core operations, which include prisons, remand facilities, and probation. Our operations are conducted at various locations across the country, which means travel within your regional area will be extensive. Overnight stays may also occur to a lesser extent. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides pool cars for these services used during working hours.
In your service role, you will be an important interface between the IT department and the core operations. You will be part of a continued unique initiative for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service that involves shaping a new type of local IT support for the core operations. In your service role, you will creatively contribute to increased digital maturity for the operations by, for example, acting as an advisor, guiding, and supporting staff regarding IT department services and IT service tasks. You will assist IT support with problem-solving and help with specific assignments such as implementations and lifecycle management of hardware. You will contribute to service development by continuously gathering improvement suggestions and feedback on IT's services and applications, and your work will help develop local IT security efforts.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and approach to your job and the organization as a whole. You follow and act in accordance with decisions and policies made. Finally, you are also service-oriented, and in dialogue with others, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating. You have a strong interest in helping others and go the extra mile to deliver solutions.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or equivalent education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service assesses as relevant
- Experience in service work
- Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
- Driving license B
It is advantageous if you have:
- Education with a focus on IT
- Experience working in the core operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience providing support to end-users
- Experience working as an onsite technician or similar
- Knowledge and understanding of service management and its support
- Knowledge of hardware regarding PCs, thin clients, laptops, printers, video equipment
- Understanding of the complexities of working in larger organizations
