Your Future Challenge
As a development engineer, you will be part of our development unit and work with both product and process development within paper and pulp. The role is operationally close and involves driving and participating in development projects from idea to implementation and follow-up in production.
You will closely collaborate with operations departments, laboratories, marketing, suppliers, and other development units within Holmen Board and Paper. In some projects, you will also have contact with the end customer. Here, you will have the opportunity to combine technical depth with practical problem-solving in a sustainable future industry.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Work with product and process development within paper and pulp
- Drive and participate in development projects and technical assignments
- Plan, execute, and follow up trials in a production environment
- Identify, analyze, and solve process and quality-related problems
- Contribute to continuous improvements with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability
- You will be the mill's representative in one of the purchasing groups for additive chemicals.
To Succeed in the Role
To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have a strong technical interest and enjoy working with problem-solving in a complex environment. You take responsibility for your tasks, drive your work in a structured and independent manner, and find it easy to collaborate with others.
We see that you have:
- A Master's degree in engineering or a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience/competence
- Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written
It is advantageous if you have:
- A specialization in paper and pulp technology, or chemistry
- Experience from the paper and pulp industry
- Experience in process optimization or development work
As a person, you are self-driven, flexible, and proactive with a problem-solving analytical ability and see opportunities in change. To succeed in the role, we also believe that you are attentive, pedagogical, communicative, and have an easy time building good relationships with people around you. Travel may be required for the position.
