SeaPattern is revolutionizing hydropower with modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines that increase energy production – without new infrastructure and without environmental impact.

As the company takes the next step towards commercialization, we are looking for a Designer who wants to help develop groundbreaking technology and create sustainable energy solutions for the world.

Main Responsibilities As a Designer with system responsibility, you will work from idea and concept development to finished production documentation. You will create detailed 3D models, CAD designs, and assembly drawings for the turbine system and its associated components.

You will work closely with the entire engineering team to ensure that all designs meet performance and manufacturability requirements, and cross-functional collaboration is crucial as you optimize turbine systems and components regarding mechanical strength and lifespan.

In your work, you will have continuous dialogue and close collaboration with both customers and suppliers.

You will also:

  • Develop designs for prototype production, testing, and manufacturing, ensuring they meet all functional requirements.

  • Support design reviews and further develop designs based on feedback from testing.

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date design documentation and that all changes are clearly reflected in product plans.

  • Ensure that all designs are manufacturable considering manufacturing constraints, cost-effectiveness, and ease of assembly.

Your Contribution to SeaPattern's Team You thrive and work effectively in cross-functional teams, can clearly communicate your design ideas, and have excellent collaboration and communication skills. You also have a strong drive to learn and actively contribute to product development.

A good understanding of mechanical principles, including strength analysis, thermal performance, and materials science, is essential. You have a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce designs that are practical and manufacturable.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, product development, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design with strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Experience in designing rotating mechanical systems such as gearboxes, shafts, bearings, and related components.

  • Experience in product development and marine systems is a plus.

  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required.

SeaPattern's office is located in Linköping, where the position is also based.

What We Offer A key role in a growing team with significant ownership and an opportunity to help develop groundbreaking technology and create sustainable energy solutions for the world.

Your Application In this recruitment, we are collaborating with Skill. If you have questions about the position, please contact Lena Johansson at 070-852 32 36 or [email protected].

We look forward to your application!
