Lawyer with Notary Qualification for the Legal Department

The City Executive Office is the administration of the municipal executive board. We are responsible for governance, monitoring, and development of the city's operations based on the vision and budget decided by the municipal council. We have just over 350 employees who mainly work with strategic issues that are of great importance to the city's operations.
Welcome to us
The Legal Department within the City Executive Office of Stockholm is responsible for providing qualified legal advice and services to the city's committees, administrations, companies, and foundations.
The department also provides services to the municipal council and the municipal executive board.
We are about 60 employees, of which around 35 are lawyers. The department is organized into four units: the general legal unit, the social and school legal unit, the operational support unit, and the municipal council/municipal executive board secretariat.
In the social and school legal unit, we work with legal issues within the areas of social services and education. The unit has twelve lawyers. We are now looking for a lawyer with notary qualification for a temporary position as deputy city attorney in the unit. The temporary position extends until March 31, 2027.

Your role
Your main tasks will include:
- advising the municipal administrations
- representing the city as a representative in courts, primarily in cases under the Act on Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU)
- providing opinions on legal matters
- conducting training.
The area of work is primarily social law such as SoL, LVU, LSS, and municipal family law. School legislation, municipal healthcare, general administrative law, freedom of information and secrecy legislation, and municipal law are also commonly encountered areas of law.
Your qualifications and experience
You who are applying have:
- a law degree
- completed notary service
- very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is advantageous if you have:
- current experience of working within social law
- current experience in one or more of the other aforementioned areas of law
- experience of litigating in court as a representative.
As a person, you are communicative and have a good ability to build and maintain relationships both internally in the workplace and externally towards clients. You are meticulous and have good judgment, which allows you to handle complex situations in a safe and effective manner. In your work, you are quick, structured, and deliver high quality. Furthermore, you express yourself clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing, to ensure clear and effective communication.
