Welcome to develop with us

We are hiring two case officers for the unit for children and student health.

In this role, you will work with qualified case management and authority exercise within the education administration, focusing on children and students in need of special support. You will be part of a team with other case officers who work comprehensively in the processes and have great opportunities to help build new working methods.

The unit for children and student health was newly established as of January 1, 2026. Within the unit, there is a manager/unit manager and 18 employees, consisting of case officers, school doctors, school nurses with associated MLA assignments, school psychologists with associated PLA assignments, special educators, SVA teachers, outdoor educators, and research leaders. The unit is responsible for ensuring that the student health interventions are evidence-based and comply with applicable laws and guidelines. This creates conditions for successful, preventive, and health-promoting student health work and develops the central support processes towards effective resource utilization.

Your mission

In this role, you will have a central function in ensuring correct and legally secure authority decisions regarding children and students. Common tasks for case officers include:

  • Investigating and deciding on additional funding
  • Investigating and deciding on admission to adapted primary and secondary schools and administering high school applications
  • Conducting quality reviews in adapted primary schools
  • Investigating and deciding on exemptions in preschools and after-school care
  • Investigating and deciding on placements in resource departments in preschools, admissions to resource schools, and handling SPV admissions to high school
  • Case management of early school start and deferred school obligation
  • Collaborating with other authorities in individual cases and in overarching forums
  • Coordinating and acting as a link between schools and guardians within the framework of the areas of responsibility

You will work closely with other functions and contribute to ensuring that our processes are efficient, legally secure, and tailored to the needs of the operations.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for someone with experience in authority exercise, good knowledge of the school's mission and regulations, and a strong commitment to educational issues.

To succeed in this role, your personal qualities are crucial. You need to be flexible, self-driven, and proactive. You are also structured and have a good ability to collaborate and build relationships.

It is an advantage if you are a special teacher or special educator and have experience working in preschools or schools with children and students with intellectual disabilities or other types of support needs.

What we can offer you

A developing job that engages and challenges you alongside knowledgeable colleagues. Since the unit is newly established, you have the opportunity to influence its development.

We are located in bright and pleasant office premises close to shopping centers, restaurants, and natural areas with swimming, skiing, and running trails, as well as Handen's commuter train station – only 20 minutes from Söder. We offer free access to the gym in the municipal building, smoke-free working hours, wellness grants, annual working hours, and the possibility of vacation exchange and days off. In this role, you will also have the opportunity for external supervision and continuous professional development based on needs.

In this recruitment, we have already made our choices of advertising channels and partners. We kindly but firmly decline any form of assistance with recruitment from external actors.

Haninge Municipality sees diversity as a strength and welcomes all applicants. Our competence-based recruitment methodology aims to focus on the individual's competence and thereby counteract discrimination.
