Support Assistant for Daily Activities, Unit 1

About the Position
As a support assistant, you will work with adults who have various disabilities, physically, mentally, intellectually, and/or neuropsychiatrically. Your work will include guiding, planning, and structuring various tasks based on the individual's unique conditions as outlined in the implementation plan.
In Daily Activities, we work based on the methods of low-arousal approach and clarifying pedagogy, which aim to make the world as clear and predictable as possible.
Within daily activities, there are several different groups, and in the role of supervisor, you will work with individuals with challenging behaviors and/or significant care needs. You will plan and develop activities together with the participants, either alone or with colleagues. Daily activities operate according to the Law on Freedom of Choice, which allows participants to choose to change, end, or modify their daily activities at short notice, meaning we may need to shift staff resources as needed.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- be responsible for finding suitable activities in consultation with service recipients and developing them based on their needs
- perform care tasks and, based on delegation, some medication management
- plan and develop work independently and together with the workgroup
- document
- establish and follow up on implementation plans
- participate in workplace meetings and other gatherings
About the Workplace
Unit 1 has operations at various addresses within Örebro city.
The Social Administration area of functional support provides assistance and services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications
As a support assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet service recipients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each person's individual needs. You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with the service recipient and other staff as well as document what the operation requires. Good computer skills are also necessary for documentation.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- nursing assistant education or equivalent to the child and leisure program (focus on educational and/or social work)
- driver's license for manual transmission vehicle
- ability to cycle
Meritorious:
- knowledge and experience of working within the LSS area
- experience using support signs
- experience with visual support (e.g., VISA or AAC)
- experience with individual needs at the center (IBIC)
- experience with social documentation
