Nora municipality offers support and care for people with disabilities through the Functional Support area. The operations include services according to both LSS and SoL and are aimed at children, young people, and adults with various support needs in everyday life.

As a support assistant with contact person and escort assignments, you will work closely with users in their daily lives and leisure, focusing on participation, independence, and meaningful activities. The work is based on the individual's needs and decided interventions, in accordance with applicable legislation and the municipality's values.

You will be part of a workgroup together with a colleague and a unit manager, where cooperation, dialogue, and shared responsibility are central parts of the work.

The work is based on the values of Functional Support DOS – Participation, Independence, and Self-sufficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

About the position:

The main task of the position is contact person and escort services according to LSS and SoL.

The working hours are mainly scheduled for evenings and every other weekend, to suit the users' leisure and enable participation in social and meaningful activities.

This means that you:

• are a contact person for several users, focusing on social support and meaningful leisure
• work as an escort during activities and planned errands.

Escort services may include escorting to:

• leisure and social activities
• medical visits, training, and other planned activities
• events and experiences

Within the framework of the contact person assignment, the following activities may occur:

• conversations, support, and advice
• coffee breaks and restaurant visits
• walks and excursions
• movies, concerts, and sports events
• training and sports-related activities
• go-karting and other leisure interests

The work is always planned and carried out based on the user's individual needs, wishes, and conditions, which requires flexibility and good adaptability.

The work may at times involve challenging situations, which requires security, stability, and the ability to handle various emotional expressions in a professional manner.

Relief services at home according to LSS may be relevant if needed, in order to relieve caregivers. This is a possible addition and is not included in the main assignment of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant education in care, support, or social work.

Examples of relevant education include nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry, support educator, social educator, treatment educator, care and support program, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

It is advantageous if you have education or experience in the disability field, LSS, or social work according to SoL. You may also have acquired equivalent competence through work experience.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability, the ability to create good relationships, and a professional and respectful approach.

A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
