Do you want to make a difference for people with disabilities?
Do you want to make a difference for people with disabilities and thrive in a role where structure, security, and pedagogy are in focus? Then you are welcome to us at Tamarinden!
About the position
We are now looking for 2 supervisors at Tamarinden, one permanent position and one temporary position, focusing on support and structure where challenging behaviors need to be met in a safe and structured manner. The operation is individual-based, but we work with all participants on a rotating schedule.
In the role, you will support and guide the participants both pedagogically and practically in their employment and activities. The work is based on each participant's conditions, interests, and individual needs, and each day includes outdoor activities – often with longer walks regardless of the weather. In the operation, you will meet adults with various disabilities, including autism and intellectual disabilities. You need to have experience in meeting people with challenging behaviors and be able to plan, guide, and structure tasks based on the individual's implementation plan and other needs. You will plan and develop the activities together with the participants, either alone or with colleagues.
Tamarinden is an individualized operation where participants need support to communicate through picture support or other means of expression. We therefore work based on low-arousal responses and AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication). Collaboration is an important part of the assignment, and you will work closely with representatives, residential staff, relatives, and other important people for the participant.
As a supervisor, you are employed at Tamarinden, but work in other units may occur to strengthen collaboration and contribute to professional development. Daily activities are covered by the Act on Freedom of Choice (LOV), which means that participants can change, terminate, or modify their services at short notice. This may lead to staff resources needing to be redistributed based on the needs of the operation.
Examples of tasks:
- be responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out tasks together with the participants in the group
- find suitable tasks in consultation with the participants and develop them based on their needs
- together with the participants establish implementation plans that are followed up annually
- perform care work such as hygiene, dressing, transfers, and assistance during meals based on the participants' needs
- perform tasks based on self-care
- perform tasks based on delegation such as medical and habilitative interventions and medication management
- work based on a structured and rehabilitative approach that promotes the participant's development
- document and work in operational systems
- drive a minibus
