Exciting things are happening right now in picturesque Karlskoga. In our city, you are always close to both beautiful nature and the high-tech industrial sector. We offer you a welcoming workplace where people and innovations can thrive. Welcome to a meaningful job where you can truly make a difference!

Karlskoga Municipality works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus counteracting discrimination.

The Social Administration works to ensure that all citizens, when needed, can receive the support they may require in various situations. This is done within the framework of social services' mission and various legislations, as well as based on the values of the Social Administration. This may involve home care, special housing, advice and support for people with disabilities, financial assistance, or help with addiction problems. Within the administration, there is also the municipality's competence supply unit.

The Social Administration is divided into five areas: Home Care, Care and Nursing Homes, Health and Medical Care, Individual and Family Care, and the area for people with disabilities.

The Competence Supply Unit is divided into six groups: processing group, coaching group, and the group for placement in and support for social entrepreneurship (GPS). Within the unit, there is also administration, support for individuals with dependency issues through the adult team and the outpatient care Tellus, as well as the Bosam group, which provides support and guidance to the homeless and in efforts related to housing. The Competence Supply Unit has three responsible unit managers, one of whom will be your immediate supervisor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work within the Competence Supply Unit involves, among other things, helping users achieve self-sufficiency through social change work and a coaching approach where the individual's own resources are central and utilized in the best way possible.

You will work in the processing group where your tasks will include administering, investigating, and assessing the right to financial assistance. This is done through controls and individual assessments based on the new Social Services Act. Investigations may involve a lot of phone contacts as well as personal meetings. The pace can sometimes be high as residents typically choose to apply for financial assistance within the same period each month. As a social worker in the processing group, you play an important role in identifying clients' resources, abilities, and support needs, and collaborating between internal and external actors is therefore an important part of the job. Documentation, legal security, and good customer service are also important aspects of our work.

Based on a BIP-inspired approach, the client will typically be followed by a coach and/or other internal support measures such as adult caseworkers in relation to dependency issues or domestic violence. Your tasks include, in addition to conducting necessary checks, investigating and making decisions on the individual's application for financial assistance based on your, colleagues', or the coach's assessment of how the client's individual planning is followed. This often places high demands on an individual assessment of the entire life situation of the individual.

As a new employee in the processing group, you will receive an introduction and access to a mentor and case support.
