Welcome to us

The Culture Administration has about 1000 employees and includes the Culture School, Stockholm City Library, Liljevalchs Art Hall, Stockholm Art, and the City Museum.

The Events Department organizes large public events such as the Stockholm Culture Festival and the youth festival We Are Sthlm. The Culture Administration's activities receive about 11 million visits each year.

The Culture Administration works to ensure that the cultural offerings in Stockholm consist of a diversity of different expressions, offerings, and opportunities while also containing both breadth and depth. The Culture Administration is responsible for the majority of the municipally driven cultural activities and provides support to the independent cultural sector.

A challenge for the Culture Administration is to reach more people, including groups we do not currently reach. Everyone should feel welcome in our activities, which places high demands on employees' competence and commitment. We actively work with sustainability and strive for equality and diversity. We offer

In the Culture School, children and young people aged 6 to 22 have that space. Here they get the opportunity for their own creativity in their free time in one of the Culture School's many subjects within music, singing, theater, musical, dance, circus, art, and media. Through various events, both large and small, students can perform in front of an audience. Instruction is provided in our own facilities, with professional equipment, as well as in schools throughout Stockholm.

Your role in group instruction

• Cello instruction in groups.
• Take responsibility for your student groups and work to establish good contacts with the students and their families.
• Plan and actively participate in activities based on the Culture School's goals and commitments together with the manager, colleagues, and students, such as outreach activities, concerts, and performances.
• Actively participate in meetings and professional development.
• Lead, plan, and participate in orchestra and ensemble activities.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree with cello as the main subject or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
• Knowledge of and preferably experience in group instruction. By group instruction, we mean explicit group methodology that builds on both the individual student's and the group's development.

You should have pedagogical insight and good collaboration skills.

Other

Weekend work may occur. A criminal record extract must be presented before employment. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
