Your Mission

As a teaching assistant, you will support a 4th-grade student with diabetes and ensure the student's well-being throughout the school day. You will follow the student's self-care plan, which includes checking blood sugar, administering insulin, managing meals, and being close to the student when needed. You will receive an introduction and training on diabetes in children upon starting.

You will work closely with teachers, after-school staff, and other teaching assistants. In addition to your main role, you will also support other students during lessons, breaks, lunch, transitions, and when needed during after-school activities. You will contribute to safety, well-being, and development both socially and academically. You will accompany students on outings and activities outside of school. The role involves daily contact with guardians and building good relationships with students and colleagues.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• high school education
• experience working with children, students, or youth
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you also have:

• education in child and leisure or health and care
• experience working as a teaching assistant in a school
• experience working in after-school care or within a school
• knowledge of and experience supporting students with diabetes
• experience in health and care work where you are accustomed to care interventions
