Teacher in Swedish and SO for grades 6-7

Do you want to work in an international environment with a clear educational policy?

We are looking for a licensed teacher with subject competence in Swedish and SO for the upcoming school year. We are a school with grades 4-9, and all teachers at our school need to be comfortable teaching these age groups. Competence in other subjects is an advantage.

About you: As a person, you are flexible, a dedicated team player with a positive attitude towards your subject. You are creative and willing to go the extra mile for your students and colleagues. You possess the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom where your clear leadership and teaching style are keys to your students' success. You can adapt your teaching to reach different students and can, in collaboration with our student health team and special educators, work inclusively with students who have special needs. For us, ongoing, clear feedback to students and guardians is a must, and you see it as a natural part of your teaching. In this feedback, you provide information about both progress and areas for development and improvement. We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher for grades 4-9 with competence in Swedish and SO and who wants to teach students in an international work environment. You meet your students' needs and as a mentor to 16 students, you strive for each student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background. You have a positive view of people, are a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Teaching is conducted in Swedish, but the working language among colleagues is both Swedish and English.

About the job: The job description includes, in addition to common teacher tasks such as planning, teaching, grading, and follow-up, also mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach. You need to be available for meetings with guardians, students, and colleagues and actively work to uphold IES's values and vision. Our focus is on learning and on a calm environment where the school's routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. A pleasant atmosphere and a good collaborative climate are keywords behind our success. Internationella Engelska Skolan Nacka (IESN) is a free school with 940 students. The school opened in August 2010 and is located in Nacka Strand with good communications to Slussen and central Stockholm. We offer a calm and safe working environment where mutual respect between students and between students and staff permeates the operation. Teachers and students come from all over the world and thus bring experience, knowledge, and new opportunities to the school.

Employment conditions: The position is 100%
