Mother Tongue Teacher in Haninge
Do you have ideas for the future and are you driven by challenges? In Haninge, you will develop alongside supportive colleagues who want to make a difference today. Right now, one of the most ambitious transformation efforts in our municipality's history is underway. We are building a new city, about 20 minutes from Söder. Join us on our journey.
Description
You will teach in the mother tongue. In the teaching, students will encounter and gain knowledge about fiction, other aesthetic storytelling, and various forms of non-fiction in their mother tongue. This will give students the opportunity to develop their language, identity, and understanding of the world around them. The teaching should also contribute to students developing knowledge about how to formulate their own opinions and thoughts in different types of texts. They should also be encouraged to express themselves through other aesthetic forms of expression. The teaching should provide students with the conditions to develop their cultural identity and become multilingual. Through teaching, students should therefore be given opportunities to develop their knowledge of cultures and societies where the mother tongue is spoken. The teaching should also contribute to students developing a comparative approach to cultures and languages.
Study guidance in the mother tongue is a support measure available in primary school and equivalent school forms, as well as in upper secondary school and upper secondary special school. It is the school's responsibility to organize teaching for students with another mother tongue so that they are given the conditions to develop knowledge in all school subjects while learning the Swedish language. One way to meet that need is to provide the student with study guidance in their mother tongue.

We are looking for someone who easily creates good relationships and is communicative. You need to have good language skills in both Swedish and the mother tongue. You find it easy to collaborate, are curious, and want to develop and grow.
Our core mission is based on the Education Act, which states that education within the school system aims for students to acquire and develop knowledge and values. It should promote all students' development and learning as well as a lifelong desire to learn. Education should convey and anchor respect for human rights and the fundamental democratic values on which Swedish society rests. Everyone working in schools should also promote respect for every person's intrinsic value and respect for our shared environment. The inviolability of human life, individual freedom and integrity, the equal value of all people, gender equality, and solidarity among people are the values that schools should embody and convey. Teaching in schools should be non-confessional.
Working as a mother tongue teacher requires you to have a strong ability to take your own initiative. In your professional role, you depend on good relationships with mentors in schools, colleagues, guardians, and students.
Conditions
We can offer you a developing job that engages and challenges, together with knowledgeable colleagues and experienced managers. The position is a holiday service. We are located in bright, pleasant office premises close to shopping centers, restaurants, natural areas with swimming, skiing, and running trails, as well as to Handen's commuter train station.
