AKG Sweden is looking for an engaged Vision Educator!

We are now looking for a new employee for the assignment: Vocational introduction for people with visual impairments. The position consists of various preparatory measures, divided into four steps over approximately 1-1.5 years. During this time, our participants will engage in individually suitable activities that help them achieve their goal of obtaining a job or participating in training that leads to employment.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, motivated, and engaged with other people. The target group is very broad, which places high demands on you and your colleagues to adapt the content and structure of our activities at the individual level. Much of your work will involve strengthening our participants' self-esteem, confidence, and motivation, which is why we see it as essential that you have experience interacting with individuals with visual impairments and that you are driven to engage and help others grow—without taking over their responsibilities. Additionally, you are fundamentally positive and unpretentious, with good self-awareness regarding the conditions you need to thrive and succeed in your work. You are challenged by testing different paths and methods, and you enjoy working independently as well as being part of a team.

The Role of Vision Educator

In addition to educating, supporting, coaching, and motivating our participants, you always have the goal in sight—and a clear mission to find a suitable path for the individual that leads to work or studies. This places high demands on an individualized working method. The role also involves some administration and documentation in our own and the client's systems.

At AKG Sweden, we work in teams, and as a Vision Educator, you, together with the local team and the Quality Manager, are responsible for ensuring that we conduct a delivery we are proud of through our internal processes, and you are a key person in the ongoing development work.

Competence Requirements

• Vision Specialist/Visual Rehabilitation Therapist or
• Occupational Therapist with vision competence or
• At least one (1) year of experience working (at least 50% of full-time) with the target group of individuals with visual impairments
• Knowledge about visual impairments and their consequences,
• Knowledge of compensatory methods and aids for individuals with visual impairments
• Experience in training individuals in magnification and screen reading programs related to the Office suite

Employment Conditions

• Permanent employment with a 6-month probation period
• Scope: Part-time/full-time as agreed.
