The Department of Children and Education works on behalf of the preschool and primary school committees. The department is responsible for preschool activities, school-age childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. About the position

You will be part of the school's student health team and, together with two other special teachers, be responsible for the special educational work within the entire school unit grades 4-9, but you will have a particular responsibility for grades 4-5. This work includes planning, implementing, being responsible for, and documenting special support for students, as well as following up on students' knowledge development at an overarching level. This work also includes analyzing student results and, together with special teacher colleagues and school management, contributing to the development of teaching at Vårbyskolan so that as many students as possible reach the knowledge goals within the framework of the regular classroom. As part of the position, you will guide subject teachers with the aim of ensuring that we have equitable and accessible teaching of high quality at the school, as well as being a driving force in developing the operations within our local special teaching group (LSU) grades 7-9 and also working with students in need of special support. Who are you?

We place great importance on personal suitability; however, appropriate education as a special teacher and/or special educator is required. It is advantageous if you have good experience working with students with language disorders and if you have previously worked in multicultural areas and/or have experience from smaller teaching groups. Since most of our students have a different native language than Swedish, a language-developing approach is a prerequisite, both for teaching and for the special educational work at the school, as well as the willingness and ability to create good relationships built on trust and respect. You are well acquainted with the governing documents and have good digital competence and possess a very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. You have good collaboration skills, find it easy to create relationships, and collaborate with students, guardians, the school's working team, student health team, and school management.

To thrive in the role of special teacher with us, you need to be unpretentious, flexible, have a sense of humor, possess very good communication skills and self-distance, as well as a solution-focused approach. We work to ensure that all our students succeed.

You have the ability to independently take initiatives, possess good analytical skills, and actively participate in our development work aimed at improving teaching quality and making regular teaching more accessible for our students and can contribute to removing obstacles and difficulties in various learning environments at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You also have the ability to critically and independently conduct pedagogical investigations and establish action plans. You are a qualified conversation partner and advisor in matters concerning children's and students' learning and knowledge development. You have an in-depth ability for an individualized approach for children and students in need of special support.
