Our school, Hjulsta Primary School, is a K-9 school with about 420 students located 100 meters from the subway station in Hjulsta, the first station on the blue line.

Many students come from different cultures, and most have Swedish as their second language, which enriches, develops, and challenges our everyday life. The school management consists of a principal, deputy principals, an administrative manager, and a staff group of about 70 people, of which about half are teachers. We have a complete student health team consisting of career counselors, three special educators, a counselor, a school nurse, and a school psychologist. Our students should be given the opportunity to develop their best selves, with good knowledge and well-developed skills for the future. We who work at Hjulsta Primary School want to make a difference, and with great commitment and knowledge, we work together. Now we are accelerating the school’s joint development work towards higher goal fulfillment.

Our main focus for the upcoming school year is the development of teaching based on scientific foundations and proven experience. Hjulsta Primary School has intensified its work since the autumn term of 2019 to systematically develop teaching. A lecturer position has been filled, and our new lecturer has a responsibility as part of their role to lead practice-oriented and research-focused development work at the school. Accessible teaching, digitalization, and language and knowledge-developing education are other areas we prioritize, as well as collaboration between school and working life.

Now we are looking for a substitute teacher for grades 4-6 who wants to work with us and contribute to the school’s development in collaboration with many competent colleagues.

Your Role

Job Description

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher qualified to teach Swedish, English, mathematics, and social studies for grades 4-6. You will be part of a team in the middle school and have responsibility for 10-15 mentor students. This is a long-term substitute position covering the period from April 2026 to June 2027.

Your Competence and Experience

Teaching certification to teach grades 4-6 in Swedish, English, and social studies. Experience in the profession is desirable.
