The Education Administration is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. We work to provide a high-quality education, from preschool to adult education, giving the residents of Linköping the best conditions to grow, develop their knowledge, and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you see the students' education as a whole where your subject is a part, and you collaborate with colleagues both within the subject and around the development of education. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. At the school, we drive a systematic and joint professional learning where teachers explore their practice together to further improve students' learning.

This position is a fixed-term employment until 2025-06-19. The position involves teaching English in the technology and natural sciences programs, mentorship, and some support teaching.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. Here, there is a middle school, high school, and adapted high school. The high school includes the natural sciences and technology programs as well as introductory programs focusing on language introduction and individual alternatives. There are approximately 1900 students, of which over 1000 are in high school, and about 330 employees at the school.

Who we are looking for

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with the authority to teach English at the high school level. Secondly, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training or is at the end of their education to become a high school teacher.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught in the national programs of high school for at least one academic year.

In your role as a high school teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Gy11) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development according to the curriculum (Gy11).

As a high school teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that occur in your professional role.
