Västervik Gymnasium

The Electrical and Energy Program in Västervik is facing an exciting future. We offer two specializations: Electrical Engineering and Automation. Our program is one of about 30 selected ETG partners, which means great opportunities for development.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help develop our Electrical and Energy Program together with a dedicated team.

Your Responsibilities

The work is carried out together with a team of five vocational teachers and a couple of teachers in common subjects. Depending on the applicants' skills and experience, the relevant courses will be adapted to the candidate. The position also includes mentorship and being engaged with the rest of the team in the work around our APL placements.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for knowledgeable and committed vocational teachers for our EE program. We would like you to have experience from the labor market regarding, for example, electrical installation, automation, alarms, data communication, and energy technology. We also welcome those with a vocational teacher's degree, but even those with solid industry knowledge and an interest in working with our students are of interest to us. In the absence of pedagogical education, we will try to facilitate the completion of a vocational teacher training program alongside the work as a teacher.

It is very important that you have good pedagogical skills, good subject knowledge, and the ability to motivate and engage. We would like you to have very good computer skills. Important qualities include being able to collaborate and being unpretentious. We have a fast pace, and it is required that you are flexible and stress-resistant.

It is important that you as a teacher can meet our students at the knowledge level where they are, as well as with respect and a trusting approach. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and good pedagogical ability.

The position is subject to a background check. Applicants must present an extract from the police criminal record before employment occurs.
