Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated support assistant for our unit Boendestöd Centrum 2.

We offer you a stimulating and flexible job with a high degree of personal responsibility.

As a support assistant, you will meet people with various disabilities and needs, often within the target group of neuropsychiatry, acquired brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and other mental health variations. Also, so-called dual diagnoses, meaning individuals with substance abuse may be involved.

No day is the same with us, and you will be offered a stimulating and varied job. You should utilize the individual's own resources and, in a motivating and pedagogical way, achieve change. The work can also be practical depending on the user's needs and current well-being. The role of a support assistant places high demands on your ability to work independently and take your own initiatives. It is important to feel secure in your professional role and in yourself.

As a support assistant, you will work in the individual's home based on each client's individual implementation plan. You will promote the client's own resources to create good conditions for an independent life with participation and development in focus. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that the client receives the support they need in various areas of life. Support may include assistance with social or physical activities, support with structure in daily life, assistance with contact with authorities, and support with daily chores such as shopping and cleaning. It may also involve activities outside the home to break isolation. Social documentation is an important part of the work. You must be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

Furthermore, you will work systematically based on goals and routines to promote an independent daily life. Our goal is to see the person in their context. We are based at Stampgatan, and you will work on a schedule where working hours may vary between day, evening, and some weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

You also have several years of experience working with individuals with mental health variations.

To work with us, you also need good computer skills and be comfortable working with various digital tools. You need to express yourself well in both speech and writing as you are responsible for independently establishing implementation plans according to IBIC and other social documentation. You should also have a good understanding of the Social Services Act and be able to follow up on plans and documentation in an appropriate manner. Experience with methods such as ESL, low-arousal approach, MI (motivational interviewing), and recovery-oriented approaches is considered an advantage.

You gain energy from sharing your knowledge and contributing to others' development. You take responsibility – both for your own tasks and for the whole – and always have the best interests of the users in focus. You complete what you start and ensure that the work is done well.

You are flexible and adapt your working methods when conditions change, see opportunities in change, and can quickly adjust when needed. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating and contributing to an open and respectful work environment, but you are also confident in working independently and making your own decisions within the framework of your assignment.
