Description

Are you interested in a longer temporary position and want to be part of our team/cluster with a base placement at one of our service residences in central Kungälv? The temporary position starts as soon as possible until 20271001.

As staff at our residence, you will be part of an engaged team, working to implement decisions within LSS and providing tenants with support and care in all everyday situations. You will focus on the individual's needs, desires, and wishes, utilizing the resources and abilities each individual possesses.

At the service residence, on-call duties are included in your schedule, and we work on a scheduled basis every other weekend.

Responsibilities

As a support assistant, it is important to motivate the individual to engage in activities, which will be a key part of your daily work. The individual's daily life, including chores such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, and leisure activities, is a natural part of your work to assist in a motivating and pedagogical manner. Low-arousal response is a central concept in your assignment.

You are committed to working in a structured way with clear pedagogical methods and social documentation. It is essential to collaborate professionally with different professions and the network surrounding the individual. At the workplace, you will assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

Qualifications

You should have knowledge and experience working with individuals with disabilities in residential and/or day activity settings. It is also advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of working with clear pedagogical methods, challenging behavior, and alternative communication (AAC), such as sign language support, pictures, and social stories.

Training related to disabilities, such as AAC, low-arousal response, and programs like Inprint, Widget, among others, is desirable.

The work requires you to have a good demeanor, strong collaboration skills, be open to change, have a reflective approach, and work towards agreed goals.

As a person, you should be clear in your body language, have good physical and mental condition, and be solution-oriented. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Computer skills are important for pedagogical AAC and documentation.

Formal requirements:

  • Approved high school education from the Child & Leisure program, Health and Care program with a focus on disabilities, or trained support assistant.
  • Possession of a B driver's license.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

What does our recruitment process look like?

  • Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
  • You must be able to provide at least two managerial references from your most recent employers. If you have previously worked for Kungälv Municipality, internal references will be taken.
  • For those who are not citizens of the EU/EES area, a work permit is required; this does not apply to those with permanent residence permits. The work permit must be presented at the interview. If you are a Swedish citizen, you must be able to present a passport or national ID card.
