Develop the Civil Defense in Southeastern Sweden

We are looking for case officers

Do you want to help develop the civil defense in southeastern Sweden? We are now looking for two case officers focusing on civil preparedness planning.

We are looking for someone who is driven and knowledgeable and who actively wants to participate in the continued development of the southeastern civil area and civil defense. You will belong to the Southeastern Civil Area Office, which is responsible for the assignment as the civil area responsible County Administrative Board in Östergötland. The assignments aim to make civil defense more uniform and to coordinate regional preparedness planning with the national level. The southeastern civil area consists of the counties of Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland.

Your tasks

Your tasks will involve collaborating on preparedness planning at the national level and within the southeastern civil area. Specifically, this may involve developing joint materials and plans with County Administrative Boards within the civil area, preparedness sectors, and other actors in the preparedness system. You may develop and create structure in various assessments and make trade-offs and provide materials for decisions and direction. Exercises and training are part of our daily work, and you will be planning, leading, or evaluating such efforts. It is also important to follow up to ensure that the work leads to an increased ability to handle peacetime crises and heightened preparedness.

In your role, you will have contact with the County Administrative Boards within the southeastern civil area, but also with other civil areas and County Administrative Boards. In addition, you will work together with other authorities and actors at the national and regional levels, such as the Swedish Transport Administration and the Armed Forces. Your role includes monitoring the external environment and keeping yourself updated on civil defense and total defense.

Requirements for the position:

  • A university degree and at least one year of work experience in the field of preparedness or another area that we assess as relevant for the position
  • Experience in collaborating with various actors to solve individual or joint assignments and goals is a requirement
  • You must also have documented experience in driving, communicating, and following up on processes or projects in collaboration with other actors
  • In previous work, you have worked on making various trade-offs or assessments
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious:

  • If you have deeper knowledge in a preparedness sector and/or preparedness authority or from a region or municipality
  • If you have worked with preparedness planning
  • If you have experience from staff work
  • If you have worked with exercise planning or
  • If you have held any type of role that required leadership

As a person, you are

stable and focus on the right things. You take responsibility for your work and structure your approach independently and drive processes forward.

You are analytical and understand complex relationships and consequences. You have good judgment and can make correct trade-offs and priorities. You should have a good ability to understand complicated materials and be able to write various types of high-quality documents.

You are good at creating contacts and maintaining relationships in your work. You are confident in leading and motivating a workgroup by creating engagement and participation.

When you work in a team, you communicate clearly and ensure that everyone understands the assignment and expectations. You also follow up and remind so that timelines can be adhered to. It is important that you can listen and adapt your communication to the situation.

The operations can be event-driven, and the conditions change rapidly, so it is important that you can quickly change your approach and strategy.

The employment is

A permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
