Architect in Information Management – Key Role in the Future of Digital Healthcare

About Us

Region Sörmland is one of the largest employers in the county with approximately 10,000 employees. The IT organization consists of around 150 employees who drive digitalization and deliver IT services to all of the region's operations.

We are now looking for an architect focused on information management who wants to help develop a cohesive information environment for the region's operations in healthcare, dental care, public transport, culture, and regional development.

About the Role

Digitalization is crucial for the continued development of Region Sörmland. Information management is a central part of this work – the right information must be available to the right actor, at the right time, and in a secure manner.

As an architect in information management, you play a key role in:

• translating business strategies, national guidelines, and EU regulations (including EHDS and GDPR) into concrete information architecture and solution architecture.
• establishing and further developing common information models, conceptual models, and architectural principles.
• ensuring structures for information exchange between internal systems and external actors.
• supporting the development of data-driven services and decision support.

Your Responsibilities

• creation and management of information models, conceptual models, and metadata models.
• designing solution architecture for new systems and digital services.
• architecture for information flows, integrations, and interoperability.
• advising projects, management, and operations on issues related to information management and architecture.
• further developing the region's overall information architecture and architectural governance.
• collaborating with other architects and internal functions as well as with external actors and national initiatives.
• defining requirements for information structure and data quality in procurements and development projects.

The work is conducted according to established architectural frameworks and governance models. You will be part of an architect team where knowledge sharing, quality, and collaboration are central values.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with experience or a strong interest in information management and architecture in complex digital environments. You have the ability to translate strategic goals into practical and sustainable solutions. You are currently working as an IT architect, information architect, system administrator, system developer, BI/analytics developer, or a similar role where information and data management have been part of your work.

You have:

• relevant academic degree in informatics, computer science, systems science, or equivalent competence.
• understanding of and experience working with IT architecture, either as an architect or in close collaboration with architectural functions.
• good understanding of information modeling, conceptual modeling, and architectural principles.
• experience working with interoperability, integrations, and information exchange between systems.
• excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• a valid driver's license (travel is required for the position).

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• national information structures and standards for information exchange.
• working in large organizations with complex system landscapes.
• data platforms and/or master data management.
• knowledge of regulations for information management in the public sector (e.g., GDPR, NIS2, EHDS, or equivalent).
