Communicator with a focus on graphic design

Sjöbo is an expanding municipality in southern Skåne. Here, 19,400 residents enjoy close proximity to diverse nature and various housing options.

We are growing and need to strengthen our communications team with an additional driven communicator focused on graphic design. As a communicator, you will play a central role in Sjöbo's development and attractiveness. You are passionately interested in information, communication, marketing, and collaboration and want to contribute to Sjöbo's growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for you who are a star in graphic design and communication.

The position of communicator involves driving communication projects and working operationally and strategically to support, coordinate, and develop Sjöbo's communication efforts. We work broadly with internal and external communication with the goal of reaching out through our channels to both employees and citizens.

You will work as the expert supporting the administrations. Together with our employees, you will transform information about what is happening in the organization into content and messages in our various channels. You will also work on marketing for larger projects for the municipality's development.

The work is based on close collaboration within the unit and with the administrations. We work together on tasks but complement each other for increased attraction, where your focus is on graphic production.

Your main responsibilities include;

• Developing the municipality's internal and external communication with citizens, visitors, employees, and businesses with a long-term and strategic perspective
• Working with Sjöbo municipality's brand/employer brand and Sjöbo as a place.
• Supporting our operations in matters related to information and communication
• Producing press materials and providing support in press management/media contacts
• Acting as a sounding board and idea catalyst within the organization
• Having overall responsibility and being advisory in graphic design. You should be able to create content that combines text, images, and colors in an engaging way.
• Monitoring the external environment
• In a potential crisis situation, the communicator has a very important key function, as you will be responsible for information security and work with crisis preparedness

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you? You follow developments and seize the opportunities available to reach out and communicate with those who live, work, and visit Sjöbo municipality. We are looking for someone with several years of experience in strategic and operational communication work, preferably from a politically governed organization.

You have a university degree in media and communication studies, or equivalent knowledge/experience that the municipality deems equivalent. You have practical experience in collaboratively designing, implementing, and following up communication efforts across various channels, as well as practical experience in crisis communication. You have expertise in design, graphic design, and communication for both print and web.

We would like you to have experience working with communication in complex projects with many stakeholders, or place branding communication. We also value experience in supporting others based on your profession, such as through coaching or advising politicians/civil servants. You need to be a driven relationship builder who can support our administrations. The work requires very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

As a communicator, you have insight into target groups and channels and master the digital communication opportunities to reach our citizens. You need to identify and prioritize issues and activities that need to be planned. You have extensive experience using web publishing tools (in Sjöbo municipality, we use SiteVision) and are a proficient user of the common ADOBE programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

You have an editorial mindset with a linguistic flow. You are a qualified writer who can describe complex issues in a simple and audience-appropriate manner. You have a holistic perspective and can plan and prioritize your work. You are curious, proactive, and able to work independently.

Great emphasis is placed on your personality. A driver's license (B) is required.
