At Borås Local Supply Administration, we are around 50 employees responsible for the city's operational premises. We build and manage primary schools, preschools, and special housing, as well as cultural buildings and other important properties in the city. It is a varied job where you and your colleagues face both large and small challenges. As a unit manager, you have significant responsibility and great opportunities to influence. But perhaps even more importantly, you make a difference by improving the everyday life of the residents of Borås, especially the children, the young, and the elderly.

About the role

As the manager of the Staff Unit, you have overall responsibility for a unit with eight employees and a broad mandate that spans several strategic support functions. The unit is responsible for space planning, finance, business development, HR, quality, communication, information security, and lease administration.

The role is strategic and coordinating. You handle and consolidate issues that arise at the administrative level, prepare decision-making materials, and serve as a presenter for the board. You work closely with other managers in the administration and are part of the management team. The focus is on business development, quality, structure, and interaction between functions.

The unit and the assignment

The Staff Unit acts as a hub for the administration and supports operations that together manage space resource planning, new construction and renovation, as well as technical and economic management. You lead competent specialists and work in a culture where collaboration, dialogue, and helping each other is natural. Here we have a common goal: To do a good job for the residents of Borås.   • Strategic and administrative cross-cutting issues
  • Space resource planning
  • Finance (overall responsibility)
  • Quality and business development
  • HR, communication, and information security issues
  • Preparation of decision-making materials, consultation responses, and responses to motions
  • Presentations to the board

Qualifications

Requirements

  • University degree in, for example, public administration, HR, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Experience working in strategic and coordinating roles
  • Good ability to create structure, wholeness, and collaboration
  • Experience from previous management positions with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility

Meritorious

  • Experience in property or space issues
  • Experience from public operations or politically governed organizations
