NOW WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FOR SKÖVDE MUNICIPALITY

Are you passionate about business development in Western Sweden? Now is your chance to lead the work of developing Skövde as an attractive place for future entrepreneurship!

As the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in realizing Skövde's vision of Together we realize dreams and help Skövde grow, in close collaboration with your team. You will maintain close contact with Skövde's business community and lead the municipality's efforts to support our many successful companies in their development. Your mission also includes leading the work to attract new establishments to Skövde and collectively create the best conditions for our business community to thrive.

In the role of Business Development Manager, you will be offered a strategically important and developing position. The Business Development Unit works with and drives collaborations in talent attraction, place marketing and communication, student coordination, business climate, and company establishment. As the head of the Business Development Unit, you will have personnel responsibility for nine employees. You will report to the sector manager and become part of the management team for the Citizen and Community Development Sector.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be an ambassador for Skövde and Skaraborg. Together with your dedicated employees and the unit's broad expertise, you will create conditions to strengthen the municipality's attractiveness for businesses, people, and investments.

Some of the focus areas you will tackle together with your employees include:

• Based on the adopted establishment program and with the help of Skövde's place brand, attract prominent companies to Skövde.
• Innovative collaborations are key to success for Skövde - you will work closely with Skövde Science Park, the University, the local business community, and other key players to create a unique and dynamic place for companies to start, operate, and grow.
• Follow trends and analyze the market to quickly act and develop innovative initiatives that meet future challenges.
• With support from the developed talent attraction program and with the help of Skövde's place brand, attract national and international top talent to Skövde to enable the growth of the business community.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is goal-oriented and creative with substantial experience in business development. Your passion for creating change and driving growth is crucial. As a person, you are unpretentious, positive, and collaborative. You contribute to an inclusive work environment and thrive with many points of contact, engaging in dialogue with political leadership, employees, citizens, and businesses.

You have an education in marketing, economics, urban planning, business administration, or another area that the employer deems relevant. You have previous experience working in a leadership position with personnel responsibility. Experience from public operations is an advantage.

You also have:

• a coaching and trust-based leadership style and are confident in your leadership.
• a good ability to analyze economic trends and market conditions.
• a good understanding of the needs and challenges of the business community, both nationally and internationally, and can navigate in a fast-moving and competitive environment.
• excellent ability to build, strengthen, and maintain relationships and are a skilled communicator, both in Swedish and English.
• experience working strategically.
