Operations Manager for Sports and Recreation

We are now looking for a driving force for the Urban Planning Administration in Vaxholm municipality.

Here you will have a key role where you can truly influence the municipality's development and drive issues that make a difference in the daily lives of residents.

The Urban Planning Administration's operational area consists of three units. As the operations manager, you will be an important part of the Public Space unit, where you will work alongside six dedicated colleagues responsible for streets, parks, traffic, and other public environments. You will report directly to the unit manager for Public Space.

In this role, you will have overall operational responsibility that includes planning, operational and investment budgets, and contract follow-up. You will be responsible for several key areas that contribute to an active and pleasant Vaxholm:

• Sports and Facilities: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's sports facilities as well as scheduling and bookings.
• Outdoor Life and Recreation: Management of exercise tracks, trails, ice rinks, ski tracks, and swimming areas.
• Associative Life: Responsible for association grants and as the system administrator for the city's booking and grant system, as well as close collaboration with sports organizations and special federations.
• Marinas and Ports: Operation, maintenance, and rental of municipal boat places.
• Public Facilities: Responsible for the municipality's public convenience facilities.

In addition to the overall responsibility, you will work operationally with follow-up and maintain close dialogue with residents, businesses, and associations. You will also have an important role as a subject matter expert in the city's various urban planning projects, where you review and respond to referrals within your operational area.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of operations manager, we are looking for someone who has a good balance between technical understanding, economic thinking, and the ability to build good relationships.

Requirements:

• Relevant education: You have a university degree suitable for the position, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge through substantial work experience that we assess as equivalent.
• Experience with facilities and contracts: You have previously worked with contractor agreements within the operation and maintenance of facilities and are well acquainted with and have experience of LOU (The Public Procurement Act).
• Background in sports and recreation: You have practical experience in driving and working with issues related to sports and recreational activities.
• Financial competence: You have experience and understanding of budget responsibility and financial follow-up.
• Driver's license: Since travel within the municipality occurs, a B driver's license is required (a car is available for use in the position).

Meritorious:

• Experience with issues regarding the operation and maintenance of small boat harbors.
• Familiarity with collaboration with the sports movement, associations, and various special federations.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.
