The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept men with mental health issues and men with aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our clients, handling the basics of daily life such as cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and nights.
As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You should have:
- A minimum of a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
- A valid driver's license (B).
- Good command of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
Meritorious:
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or the Swedish Migration Agency.
- Experience in care and support.
- Experience working with our target group, such as substance abuse care, youth care, etc.
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, a high degree of empathy, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have strong communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

Exceptions to the requirement for a minimum of a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed summer temporary staff for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. Employment
As a summer temporary employee, you are expected to be able to work according to a schedule between weeks 25-32. Introduction will take place before the start, providing both theoretical and practical information. There is an opportunity for introduction and extra work in the spring, as well as the possibility of continuing with a fixed-term employment in the autumn.
