Job Responsibilities

As a school social worker, you will be a central part of our schools' student health teams and an important driving force in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and developing school environment for all students. You represent the psychosocial competence in student health and work both preventively and promotively, as well as remedially when needs arise.

In this role, you will work closely with students on an individual, group, and class level through both planned and spontaneous conversations. You are there for students who need support and have the ability to create trusting relationships. The work may involve conducting thematic sessions in classes on topics such as social media, grounds for discrimination, peer pressure, and relationships.

You will lead, coordinate, and develop the school's safety work by planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives together with colleagues, ensuring that the work is conducted systematically and well anchored. The assignment also includes supporting and developing the school's staff in matters related to interaction, safety, group dynamics, and early interventions, where you serve as an important advisory resource.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for the school's routines, action plans, and follow-up regarding student absenteeism, bullying, and other student health issues.

Documentation is a natural part of the work and includes notes, any reports to social services, and other relevant materials. You will also collaborate with guardians and external actors such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) to create a comprehensive picture of the student's needs and ensure that the right support measures are in place.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another behavioral science degree that the employer deems relevant for the position. We would like you to have further education in your field, such as IBIS, ART, CBT, or similar. Experience working with students in grades F-6 is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You are proactive and can initiate activities to achieve results. Furthermore, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
