About the Role and Your Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be to teach music.

As a teacher at Polhemskolan, you will be part of a team in one of our programs. You will conduct teaching based on applicable governing documents and participate in the pedagogical development of the school. The position also includes:

• being responsible for the school's instruments and other music equipment, including maintenance, minor repairs, and ordering external services as needed
• planning and conducting concerts in the schoolyard in collaboration with school staff, responsible for setup, sound, and technology
• leading and being musically responsible for the school's teacher band
• participating in the planning and execution of the student graduation ceremony, including assembling the students' graduation music and arranging the teacher band's performance in the auditorium
• planning and conducting the school's summer closing ceremony, including program scheduling, ordering technology, and coordinating participating students and staff.

Collaborating with the student health team and other teachers to ensure our students achieve their high school diploma is also part of the job. We consider the students' entire situation and focus on how they develop in their learning and social context.

The position is a temporary contract at 45% starting from 2026-02-23 and lasting until 2026-06-12.

We are looking for someone who

• has a teaching license and is qualified to teach music at the high school level
• has experience teaching music at the high school level
• is curious, willing to challenge students and themselves
• has a positive view of students based on the belief that all students can and want to learn
• has the ability to create enthusiasm in various learning situations
• has an inclusive perspective and is well acquainted with the governing documents of high school
• has good knowledge of working with adaptations in the classroom and during examinations

To succeed in this role, you need to be independent, proactive, stable, flexible, and have good collaboration skills, along with a good sense of humor.

You have very good digital competence and excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
