Mårten Gås Montessori Association in Åhus is an economic association and a parent cooperative where development and learning are at the center. Since 1990, the association has operated a preschool where Maria Montessori's educational philosophy lives on - that the child's curiosity, drive for independence, and thirst for knowledge are the greatest driving forces for learning.

The operations are financed through municipal grants and fees. At Mårten Gås, there are approximately 48 places for children aged 1-6 years distributed across three departments: one for 1-3 years and two for 3-6 years. Our team currently consists of 10 educators and one kitchen manager. At Mårten Gås, the child's joy and learning are the focus. Here, we prioritize present educators in smaller child groups, equal treatment, environmental awareness, well-established substitutes, seasonal and good food prepared from scratch by our chef, as well as exciting and challenging environments, both indoors and outdoors, that inspire the children.

At Mårten Gås, we base our work on the curriculum as a guiding document and use Montessori pedagogy as a method where we harness the child's curiosity, desire for activity, and drive for independence. The preschool's outdoor environment is highly appreciated by everyone and is actively used for both learning and for meals, play, and movement.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

We are looking for you, a qualified childcare worker or preschool teacher, who feels joy and enthusiasm for your mission and who is confident in your professional role. You are used to taking great responsibility, have a genuine interest in your work, and are curious about Montessori pedagogy as well as well-versed in the preschool's guiding documents. You are positive and have the ability to create good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues. As an educator, you are expected to take responsibility for the educational work in the child group and be an active educator with engagement in your work. If you are a trained Montessori educator, that is a merit!
