Social Worker at Hudiksvall Hospital

The Social Work Unit is part of the paramedicine area, which also includes speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and dietetics. Our mission is to provide psychosocial support and rehabilitative interventions for patients and their families in inpatient wards and through outpatient care.

We are currently looking for two new colleagues, one for a permanent position and one for a fixed-term position of 6 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Being a hospital social worker means seeing the whole person in the situation and context they find themselves in. The tasks are varied, where you will largely work independently but also in collaboration with other professionals at the hospital. To some extent, external collaboration with professionals outside the hospital is also included. A significant part of the work involves meeting people in crisis. Our primary tool is conversation in various forms, which mainly takes place in our offices (outpatient care) and in wards (inpatient care). In addition to support for patients, support for relatives is also offered. To thrive in this job, you need to be someone who feels comfortable meeting people in very difficult life situations, where life and the big questions of life are put to the test.

Your main responsibilities

• individual support and crisis conversations
• providing information and advice about community resources
• assisting with social legal information and facilitating contact with other actors.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who meets patients, relatives, and colleagues with humility and commitment. You are flexible and easily adapt to changing conditions in an organization where needs can shift rapidly. With your good ability to collaborate, you thrive in interdisciplinary teams and actively contribute to a good working climate. You work in a structured manner, have good planning skills, and can independently prioritize and organize your work to ensure high quality in psychosocial support.

In the role of social worker, you should

• have a degree in social work
• hold a valid driver's license (B).
