Our operations

Every day, about 7,000 children and young people go to a school in Värmdö.

The education office includes all employees and management responsible for everything related to Värmdö municipality's educational activities. This requires a well-functioning interaction between the different parts and processes of the organization. Those who choose to work with us are also part of driving community development in Värmdö. Within the department for Governance and Quality, all central functions working with education are gathered. The department's mission includes regulatory activities within the education sector, forecasting and needs assessments, as well as management and operational support to municipal operations. The department works to offer the best possible service, knowledge, and competence with effective working methods and processes.

Your mission

In the role of investigator responsible for supervision, you will primarily work with the supervision of independent preschools, including owner and management assessments, management of process descriptions and routines, as well as preparation of cases for the board. Work with oversight of independent primary and secondary schools may also be included in the work. The position also includes working with the preparation of other cases for the board, consultation responses, and contributing to follow-up, analysis, and development work within the framework of the municipality's systematic quality work.

Your experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a social science, legal, educational, or equivalent university degree that the employer deems relevant.
  • good knowledge of the education system and the governing documents for preschools and schools, as well as different forms of governance.
  • good investigative skills and the ability to quickly understand various issues.
  • very good ability to express yourself in writing as well as orally in Swedish.
  • good knowledge and experience of digital tools within the Office suite and case management systems such as Public 360 or similar.
  • good understanding of what it means to work in a politically governed organization.

Knowledge of economics and experience from similar work in a municipality or a state school authority is an advantage. Furthermore, experience in preparing cases for the board within the education sector is also an advantage.

You have good analytical skills, take responsibility for a good result, and are careful to deliver on time. You find it easy to understand national governing documents as well as to work flexibly and with diverse tasks. As a person, you are self-driven, unpretentious, meticulous, and structured. You have good social skills and enjoy working both in teams and individually. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment. You will order this yourself and bring it to a possible interview.
